Placement & All-Over Prints

This graphic study reflects development of placement artwork and engineered all-over prints for children’s apparel, balancing bold visual storytelling with real-world production requirements.

Artwork was created to support mix-and-match assortments, repeat wear, and high-energy kid lifestyles while aligning with seasonal color direction, print scale standards, and factory execution parameters.

Purpose of Study

The graphic language emphasizes playfulness with clarity — bold color blocking, expressive mark-making, and character-driven motifs designed to read from a distance while remaining durable through wear and wash.

Print development considered:

• repeat scale for romper and jogger proportions
• placement clarity across extended size ranges
• color count limitations for cost efficiency
• fabric stretch behavior and distortion
• seasonal palette cohesion

Each artwork was engineered to perform across multiple silhouettes, from rompers to sets, ensuring visual continuity without redundancy.

Print Systems

All-over prints were developed as scalable systems rather than isolated graphics — allowing motifs to evolve across seasonal drops.

Examples include:

• painterly abstract repeats
• conversational novelty prints
• holiday-driven motif stories
• large-scale florals adapted for toddler proportion

Each repeat was balanced for rhythm and density to maintain visual interest without overwhelming small garments.

Placement Graphics

Placement artwork prioritized high readability, durability, and strong emotional impact. Typography and illustration were constructed with screen print feasibility and long-term wash performance in mind. Graphic execution accounted for:
